This summer, a special educator from Finland will be joining us in Japan!

Centered around the theme of "Nature," our Summer School offers children the opportunity to experience the Finnish educational philosophy of "Learning Through Play" through a variety of unique and engaging activities.

Whether you are looking for a fun summer activity or your child currently attends another preschool or kindergarten, everyone is welcome to join—even for just one day!

✨ HEI Summer Program Activities ✨

• Days marked in red are reserved for our Mommy and Me Program for 1-2 year olds. Preschool Class will not be available on those days.
• Our Temporary Childcare Program will still be available.

We offer two different summer programs:

1. Preschool Class for children aged 3–5 years old
2. Mommy and Me for toddlers aged 1–2 years old who are not yet enrolled in preschool

As program content varies by age group, please refer to the information for your child's age category.

🌿 Preschool Class (Ages 3–5)

Eligibility: Children aged 3–5 years (including currently enrolled 2-year-old HEI students)

Dates:
July 21 (Tue) – August 7 (Fri)
Excluding weekends, national holidays, and Mommy and Me dates (Fri. July 24th, Mon. July 27th, and Wed. August 5th)

Program Hours:
10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Arrival Time:
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM

Pick-up Time:
2:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Extended Care:

• Early Morning Care: from 9:00 AM
• After-School Care: until 3:30 PM

Care outside the above hours may be arranged through our Temporary Childcare Program.

Capacity:
Maximum 20 children per day (first-come, first-served basis)

Fee:
¥13,500 per day (lunch included)

*Please bring a packed lunch on fieldtrip day (Aug 6th)

Optional Extended Care:

• Early Morning Care: ¥1,000
• After-School Care: ¥1,000
• Both services: ¥2,000

🌿 Mommy and Me Program (Ages 1–2)

Dates:

• July 24 (Fri)
• July 27 (Mon)
• August 5 (Wed)

Program Hours:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Check-in Begins:
9:45 AM

Childcare outside the above hours may be arranged through our Temporary Childcare Program.

Eligibility:
Children aged 1–2 years who are not yet enrolled in preschool (including children who are 3 years old but not yet attending kindergarten or preschool)

Capacity:
7 parent-child groups per session (first-come, first-served basis)

Registration will close once a total of 7 children have been enrolled for a session.

Fee:
¥7,500 per session

Special Benefits for Participants

- Special First-Year Offer: Parenting Seminar with Our Visiting Finnish Educator

Date:
July 31 (Fri), 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Topic:
"The Benefits of Finnish Early Childhood Education: Learning Through Play"

Schedule:

• Doors Open: 2:45 PM
• Seminar: 3:00 PM – approximately 40 minutes
• Q&A Session: 3:45 PM – approximately 15 minutes

Anyone who participates in the Summer School for even one day is welcome to attend this seminar free of charge!

During the seminar, complimentary childcare will be available for your child. Of course, your child is welcome to sit in as well.

This seminar is open to families with children of all ages, so we warmly invite you to join us!

- Classroom Observation & School Tour for Preschool Class Participants

Dates:

• July 22nd (Wed)
• July 28th (Tue)
• August 4th (Tue)

Program Details:
Parents will have the opportunity to observe approximately 30 minutes of our HEI HEI Time and afternoon closing circle activities.

After the observation, families are invited to join a guided tour of our facilities together with their child.

Schedule:

• Classroom Observation: 2:00 PM
• School Tour: 2:30 PM
• Q&A Session: Until 3:30 PM (Families may leave at any time after the tour has concluded)

This opportunity is available only to families whose children are attending the Preschool Class on the respective day.

Registration Deadline & Cancellation Policy

Online registration will be accepted until Wednesday, July 15. After this date, registrations can be made by phone or in person at the school.

*Participants who cannot use foreign credit cards on the website can register via phone or email from Monday, June 15th.

Cancellation Policy

• More than 1 week before the program: 25% cancellation fee
• The day before the program: 50% cancellation fee
• On the day of the program: 100% cancellation fee

After submitting your registration, you will receive a confirmation email once your reservation has been secured. Please make sure to check your inbox.
