HEI Summer School Week 3

Our final week of Summer School ran from August 3rd~August 7th☀

For our final week, the children made a giant Earth with paint, yarn, and origami, participated in a mini sports day, took a fieldtrip to the Science Museum of Electricity, and learned about our sister school in Korea.

DAY 1: Our Planet
We started our day learning about our planet and what it looks like, and our artists recreated what they saw on a huge poster. The children expressed their creativity through mixing paint to get the right color, thinking where the different continents are, and using different materials to mark them on the poster.

DAY 2: Aim for the Gold!
The children participated in different sports from countries where other HEI Schools can be found☆ They tried sumo from Japan, horse racing from Mongolia, and Molkky from Finland. The children learned the importance of teamwork and friendship through a day of team challenges. We finished the day off with a dance performance for our loved ones!

DAY 4: Science Museum of Electricity
We took a short excursion to the Science Museum of Electricity for our fourth day! The children learned electricity and science related words in English and got to see a science show where they experimented creating sounds by making different materials vibrate. Once the children got the hang of the experiment, they had fun changing the tone and volume of the sounds♪

DAY 4: HEI Connect ~Korea~
We learned about Korea for our last HEI Connect. We learned some Korean greetings and a bit about the culture, as well as finding the country on a map and exploring what the country is known for!

We were extremely pleased to have had welcomed so many participants to our first summer school. Thanks to all of you, we were able to create a summer of new discoveries, learning, and lots of fun!

We heard children singing HEI songs even after the program had finished, and have seen children with no prior English experience become interested and enthusiastic about speaking English by their last day. We are so happy that our experiences were memorable and hope that they had as much fun as we did!

We cannot wait for the next opportunity to learn and grow together!
We'll be waiting here at HEI Schools Nagoya Sakae for our next adventure♡
